Villiera Wines has been in the Grier family’s hands since 1983. And as well as making delicious wines, they’re renowned for their strong ethical and sustainable missions. The winery is solar-powered, uses no insecticides and plants thousands of indigenous trees to promote biodiversity. What’s more, they’re also a wildlife sanctuary and home to the Pebbles Project and the Owethu Clinic. It’s safe to say they love their environment – and this all translates to healthy vines and maximum flavour. This traditional method sparkling wine is a blend of handpicked Chardonnay and Pinot noir and spends around 18 months ageing on its lees for extra texture and flavour. It’s fresh and zesty, with complex notes of brioche. The refreshing acidity makes it a brilliant pairing for sushi or grilled asparagus.

FREE CHILLER BINS HIRE

Majestic offers free chiller bin* loan for customers purchasing wine from us.

Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade.
We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

Having a bbq and wanted a budget alternative, to my go to, Piper-Heidsiek, red lable.

Has all the grapes and that perfect je ne sais pas taste of Champagne.

We also buy this in South Africa when there.
The Villiera Cape Classic Rosé is even better and more Champagne-like if that is possible.
Majestic would do well to source the rosé as well.

We buy this when in South Africa as well.
The Villiera Cape Classic Méthod Rosé is even more Champagne-like.
Tastes even better than the white if that is possible.

I don't know if this is always sold at the level of maturity the current stock seems to have, but, if so, this represents the best value in sparkling wine that I know of. Very full-flavoured, and the right kind of (i.e Champagne-like) flavour at that.
