Accessibility

At Majestic we're devoted to making an accessible site to the benefit of all users, including disabled shoppers. It's with this ethos that we strive to continually enhance our customers’ online shopping experience.

What drives us to make this site the pinnacle of web accessibility is laid down in the AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. The purpose of these guidelines is to demonstrate how web content can be made more accessible for people with disabilities. Adhering and observing changes in these guidelines makes a site that is easy for everyone to use for now and in the future.

The current version of this site is built using HTML5 and is optimised to work across multiple devices: desktop, tablet and mobile. We work, and will continue to do so, to standards compliant with HTML/CSS coding, meaning that the site will display correctly on all devices despite any indeterminable future changes to web browsers.

At every stage of web development we work to ensure each and every part of the site is up to our own high standards of optimisation and accessibility. Concurrently, if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of this site, please contact us and we will be pleased to hear your feedback.

Solving Kids’ Cancer: Ollie Sweeney's Fund

This year Majestic Wine have partnered up with Solving Kids’ Cancer: Ollie Sweeney’s fund

Majestic Wine have joined the fight with Ollie Sweeney, this is to help raise money to provide further care once his front line care is completed on the NHS. Whether this is to further his current treatment to clear the disease or to send him to remission treatment. Majestic are working with SKC to give Ollie a chance!

Ollie has high-risk Neuroblastoma cancer and is just two years old! This is an aggressive and complex cancer to treat. Ollie is a cheeky little chap who loves Toy Story, Thomas the Tank, Fireman Sam and many more, just like your average child, except Ollie does all this fighting with a smile everyday!

There are 1/100 children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer every year in the UK and around 50 are diagnosed with a high-risk form of the disease. Even if Ollie gets into remission, there is still a chance he can relapse. If that happens his chances of survival fall to less than 1/10. This is why this is such a crucial part to able to provide further treatment when this is needed.

If you would prefer a more detailed update, Ollie's family have created a fundraising page which documents Ollie's Journey via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HighFiveforOllie/.
