Tequila has been made in Mexico for over four centuries. It’s a type of Mezcal spirit made from the agave plant. In recent years, producers have increased quality, making Tequila a trending favourite amongst bartenders. There are three main styles – Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. Blanco is unaged, making it a fantastic fit for cocktails. Reposado is aged in oak for up to a year before release and is great to sip neat. Añejo is aged between one and three years and is a style to savour, as barrel ageing brings softness and complexity.
