Bordeaux Rouge |

Château La Grave Peynet | France

Majestic

Bordeaux wines tend to come with big hype, but this blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon lives up to the expectation. Critics agree: it won a gold medal at International Challenge Gilbert & Gaillard 2022. Judges called it an “instantly accessible Bordeaux with subtle tannins, mirroring the vintage style”. In other words, it’s a brilliant buy that’s ready to crack open now.

About the producer
The family behind small Château La Grave Peynet have been making wines for seven generations, and all those years of experience clearly show. Now they manage 33 hectares of vines in the village of St-André-du-Bois, just north of the Garonne River.

About the region
Bordeaux is a region built around waterways. The famous terms ‘left bank’ and ‘right bank’ refer to the geography of a given winery relative to the Gironde estuary and the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. But it also denotes a general style; left-bank wines are usually Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends, while right-bank wines are largely Merlot-based.
