Château Méaume is owned by British couple, Alan and Sue Johnson-Hill, who were guests at the opening of the first ever Majestic store in 1980. The estate’s impressive bottlings have been stocked on our shelves ever since. Today, the winemaking is in the hands of Alan and Sue’s son, Mark, along with his wife Sandra. Together they uphold the family tradition of respecting land and vine, keeping sustainability at the heart of production. This bottling is a much-loved staple amongst our award-winning range. Bordeaux wines labelled ‘Supérieur’ are a step up from your average bottle. They’re made with grapes from lower-yielding vines and must be aged in oak for at least a year, bringing you more complexity and intensity of flavour. Expect notes of rich, dark plum and blackberry, with hints of cedar spice. It's structured yet elegant, making it a wonderful choice for everything from roasted meats, cheese and charcuterie boards, to cosy fireside sipping. Majestic offers free chiller bin* loan for customers purchasing wine from us.

Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade.
We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

Was there something wrong with my bottle? Perhaps.
Either way it has absolutely nothing to it apart from a bit of bitterness, tannin and slight burn from alcohol,zero actual flavour. Ended up down the sink unfortunately.

Had a fantastic bottle of this - complex, ripe, couldn’t believe it for an tenner. Immediately ordered more. Every one of them has been a disappointment. Sharp, highly alcoholic taste. Doesn’t smooth out after hours open. Such a disappointment.

I've tried a few of these over the years and think it may even be getting better. Lovely bouquet with a classic plummy Bordeaux taste. A very easy choice for a house Bordeaux.

Yet another so so bland Bordeaux with a fancy name and drawing on the label to entice you in. Over the years you'd think I would have learnt that anything with Bordeaux Superieur on the label is anything but superior.

Love this wine! It’s layered, smooth, and has that deep, warming character you hope for in a Bordeaux. There’s real craftsmanship here. It feels like a wine twice the price. I’ve already gone back for more.

I tried the 2022 vintage after a friend’s recommendation, and it was a huge hit! I brought several bottles to a dinner party and every guest loved it! The wine was absolutely delicious, and such amazing value. Its my new go to choice!
