Barolo is one of Italy's most highly regarded fine-wine styles – with prices that match its stellar reputation. But if you find the right producer, you can still taste something fantastic in the region that doesn't break the bank. Ciabot Berton is a relatively small winery run by brother-and-sister team of Marco and Paola Oberto. They make this wine from a number of vineyards in the celebrated La Morra commune and age it in oak for two years. It's elegant and full-bodied, with aromas of roses, truffle, blackcurrant and cinnamon. Try it with venison stew.

Majestic offers free chiller bin* loan for customers purchasing wine from us.

Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade.
We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

I've not had other barolo so it's hard to compare but I enjoed this. It packs a punch at 14.5 feels quite tannic, fruity and a bit of spice some aroma.

I've been drinking Barolo for about 45 years, I don't mind paying over the odds for a decent wine but this Barolo was the worst I've ever tasted
thin bodyless and sour, supermarket Barolo's for £10-£12 taste better. Try Definition Barolo it's a lot better

Thin nasty tasting wine more like vinegar, I tasted a small amount then tried it again the next day but it was the same, so two bottles went back and I bought instead Definition Barolo which is excellent and I highly recommend

Disappointing, tasted more like a Pinot Noir than a full bodied classical Barolo with a slight hint of acidity.
In my opinion, not worth the money paid.

Gave it some air, lots of it…unpleasant drink. That is 40 years of wine drinking experience. Maybe in 5 years time but i will not be the one to try it then. This kind of money is better spent on an alternative
