Château Meyney, located in the prestigious Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, is one of the oldest estates in the region, with a history dating back to the 17th century. Known for producing robust and age-worthy wines, Meyney consistently delivers quality, showcasing the depth and complexity that Saint-Estèphe wines are celebrated for. The 2013 vintage reflects a cooler and more challenging year, resulting in a wine that is elegant and more restrained, with a focus on freshness and finesse. It offers delicate aromas of red currants, cranberries, and subtle earthy notes, with a light, refined palate and a clean, mineral finish. The 2017 vintage, on the other hand, benefits from a warmer growing season, producing a wine with greater intensity and concentration. Rich aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and a touch of spice are followed by a medium to full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a lingering finish. Both vintages pair beautifully with food, particularly roasted meats, such as lamb or beef, and earthy dishes like mushroom risotto. For a vegetarian option, try with grilled vegetables or lentil stew. While the 2013 is drinking well now, the 2017 promises further development with a few more years of ageing.

The Majestic money back guaranteeYour money back if your wine's not delicious - no quibble, no questions asked
If you receive an unsatisfactory bottle up to the value of £60, we will always replace, refund, or recommend another wine we think you’ll love – and there is no need to return the bottle to us. If you do not enjoy a bottle you ordered, simply get in touch with your local Majestic Wine store, let them know you did not enjoy this wine and our highly knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to replace the wine with something else we think you’ll love or refund the full amount to you.
Our glass hire service includes wine glasses, flutes and hi-ball tumblers.*
All we ask for is a £2-per-glass deposit, payable in advance when adding glasses to your order. When the glasses are returned to us clean and ready for re-use, the deposit is fully refunded– all you pay for is breakages. And since you have paid a deposit, there's no time limit in which you have to return them. To request glasses when you order online, simply place your order online, then contact your local store, quoting your order number.
Majestic offers free chiller bin* loan for customers purchasing wine from us.
Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade. We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

I was disappointed with this, normally St Estephe is one of my very favourites, but this lacked depth and not worth the price.

Delicious. I bought one from 2017. I just tried it tonight. First class. Exactly what a fine Bordeaux should be. I’m sorry I can’t use all those fancy terms to describe it, it’s just delicious. It’s a shame we have to pay such a price for the real thing.

The 2017 does it for me - a dense, rich bordeaux taste

Has the potential to be a good/great wine. However 2013 is way too young at the time of writing. Heavy on tannin but the fruit is trying valiantly to come through. Will buy more to lay down.
