Central Otago is famed for Pinot Noir, and you don’t need more than a few sips of this wine to understand why. Hand-picked grapes from three premium sites come together in a medley of sun-warmed cherry, plum, cinnamon and clove flavours. Full and vibrant, with a concentrated fruit core and silky tannins, this is a red that will stand up gorgeously to a range of different dishes.

About the producer

Diggers Law is made at the Gravity Winery, where ancient gravity-led methods are employed to gently guide the juice down four architectural levels and create wines that purely express their origins. In fact, from harvest to barrel, this Pinot Noir is barely touched before it is bottled – pretty impressive stuff.

About the region

Central Otago is the world’s southernmost commercial wine region and has the perfect cool-climate conditions for growing demanding Pinot Noir. Fruit for this wine is sourced from three different sub-regions, each with varied soils. The coolest, Gibbston Valley, has elevated glacial terraces. Warmer Bendigo features dry gravel and clay, while lakeside Lowburn has gravelly sandy loams.
