CUSTOMER REVIEWS
I’m not going to give a pompous review about the tasting notes etc…I will describe this wine in basic English for everyone to understand.
It’s a light easy drinking wine that is not watery. It’s incredibly juicy and more-ish. It goes down smoothly and really gets the taste buds going.
It’s definitely a wine that can be enjoyed entirely on its own, or with all kinds of foods. Pasta bolognaise, steak frites, lamb curry, steak and kidney pie or just some cheese. ( soft or hard).
It’s one those quality wines that you just want to keep in stock. We have bought 4 bottles and are still thinking of getting more just to have at hand.
It’s also worth noting that this wine tastes better the next day once it’s had time to air. It seems to get even smoother.
Perhaps 2019 was a good harvest year, I don’t know. But it’s definitely worth trying if you are looking for a good quality wine to go with multiple types of dishes or just on its own. It’s not full bodied and does not have long legs, but it certainly does not have a diluted watery taste by any means. It’s full of juicy flavour and an easy silky drink. You could happily get tipsy on this and enjoy every moment.
If you’re looking for a more full bodied wine to go with game or venison, I’d probably suggest something like the Meerlust Merlot or the chocolate block. ( if you’re after a nice South African wine that is)
