The sister red blend to the ‘The Good Stuff White’, this bottling comes from some of South Africa’s coolest vineyards. Even summer days rarely break above above 25ºC, allowing the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen slowly and build complexity. If you're a fan red Bordeaux, you're bound to enjoy this.

Iona is considered one of South Africa’s leading producers, and not only because they make great-tasting wines. They look after their staff with share schemes and education funds, and they own and farm all their own vineyards. They have state-of-the-art equipment but try to keep things simple, making wines with minimal sulphur, commercial yeast or filtration to preserve the uniqueness of each vintage.

The Cape South Coast – and specifically Elgin, where Iona is based – majors in aromatic, expressive varieties with moderate alcohol and refreshing acidity. A combination of high-altitude vineyards and south-easterly winds from the nearby Atlantic gives Iona its particularly cool climatic conditions.
