'Sélections Parcellaires' Minervois

Made from a micro-parcel of vines less than five hectares in size, this blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache from the Languedoc AOC of Minervois is intense and complex. Blackcurrant, spice and cocoa aromas mingle with rich flavours, leading to a long, smooth finish.

About the producer
Winemaker Pierre Bessonnet knows the landscapes of southern France inside-out. His work starts in the vineyard, where he identifies which grape varieties are best suited to the terroir at hand, long before a drop is ever vinified. His work is a fitting match for estate owners the Skalli family, who have been pioneers in single-varietal wines in the region since the 1920s.

About the region
Richly complex in terms of geography, the Languedoc has the conditions for many different grape varieties to thrive. Set in the region’s west, Minervois is a hotspot for Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Fortant’s grapes are grown in hard, stony limestone – lending rich aromas and silky tannins to the Syrah, and a smooth, fruity freshness to the Grenache.
