This certified organic Chardonnay shows that Burgundy’s star white grape is every bit as delicious when it’s grown in southern Italy. Camari means ‘to love’ in Sicilian, and it’s easy to fall for this aromatic wine, rippled with notes of pineapple and lemon. Crack it open on its own or with food, and savour the fresh, crisp minerality and lingering finish.

About the producer
Experienced and innovative winemaking couple Alessandro Michelon and Elena Ciurletti have only been running their company for about a decade, but already they’ve made a name for themselves in Sicilian wine. All their vineyard activities are carried out manually, from pruning to harvest, to ensure each grape gets the individual care it needs.

About the region
Within the province of Palermo, the Camporeale area is hilly and well-ventilated, with significant temperature variations between day and night that help grapes to retain their freshness. Michelon and Ciurletti’s 20 organic hectares of vines lie on hillsides up to 500 metres above sea level, only 20 kilometres from the coast.

Enjoy this wine with Tray-Baked Monkfish with Savoy Cabbage, Oyster Mushrooms & Mulled Beetroots. Exotic-fruit flavours in the wine contrast with the earthy flavours of the mushrooms and beetroots, making for a balanced pairing.
