A bit of Europe in New Zealand. This aromatic Riesling is made by Hermann Seifried, raised near Graz, and the influences of old-world winemaking show in his technique. But this is still unmistakably a wine from Down Under, with beautiful notes of tangerine blossom, candied peel and flowers. Expect well-balanced acidity and a citrusy, mineral finish.
About the producer
The son of a fruit farmer, Hermann Seifried learned to make wine in Germany – where Riesling is king. He relocated to New Zealand to be with his wife Agnes and together they planted the first commercial vineyard on the South Island in 1973. Still an independent family business, Seifried control all aspects of production and even have their own nursery for vine propagation.
