Every vintage, the team at Jim Barry find a special patch of grapes that really reflects the terroir it comes from, and creates a limited-release bottling. This aged Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from older vines at their Lodge Hill property, and shows the hallmark earthy characteristics of Clare Valley with its elegant, fine tannins and vibrant fruit flavours. Crack it open and savour those notes of hot-cross-bun dough, black-fruit compote, cedar and leather.
About the producer
Jim Barry Wines have had a strong family ethos for 50 years. Jim was the first qualified winemaker in the Clare Valley, and today his grandchildren Tom, Sam and Olivia work as the label’s custodians, handling everything from winemaking to brand ambassadorship.

Set north of the city of Adelaide in South Australia, the Clare Valley was first planted with vines in the 1840s. Summers can be hot, but they’re tempered by cooling breezes, allowing grapes as diverse as Riesling and Shiraz to thrive. The Cabernet Sauvignon for this wine grows on north-facing slopes that receive longer, warmer exposure to sunlight.
