Golden and expressive, this 100% Chardonnay from the south of France retains its freshness and its intense aromas of white fruit and citrus thanks to the extreme vineyard terrain – altitudes topping 500m and inclines of over 30%. We couldn’t ask for a better aperitif, though it’s also a great match for salads, fish and chicken.

The Descombe family started making wine in Beaujolais in 1905. Fast-forward five generations and they now own multiple domains, including some in Chablis and the Rhône, and produce a wide range of wines from Pinot Noir to Syrah. The young team, headed up by Marine Descombe, controls their entire winemaking process, from vineyards and harvest to bottling and shipping.

The IGP Pays d’Oc has only been an official winemaking region for 35 years, but vineyards have been planted here since Roman times. It is among France’s most diverse wine regions, with 58 different permitted grape varieties. The most popular white varieties, however, are Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
