A blend of three classic grapes from the Rhône – Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre – harvested from 60-year-old vines and crafted by winemaker Marine Descombe, who uses low-intervention techniques. Aromas of ripe black fruit, liquorice and spice meet good body and structure.

About the producer
Native to Beaujolais, the Descombe family has been making wine since 1905, and across five generations they’ve grown the estate to include plots in Burgundy and the Rhône. Champions of biodiversity, they run an ambitious agroforestry programme, planting trees among vines to encourage habitats for insects, birds and small animals. Meanwhile, cover crops are sown to create ‘green alleys’ in vineyards that protect soil health.

About the region
Created during the last ice age, the river-carved Rhône Valley stretches from the Alps down towards the Mediterranean. The area is broadly split into north and south, with the northern Rhône featuring steep hillsides and Syrah-focused wines. The southern Rhône, where Côtes du Rhône AOC is located, has full-bodied red blends and opulent whites.
