This month, our Rosé buyer Matt is taking over the tasting room! Here he gives his top recommendations and the inside scoop on which rosés to explore this Spring.

Domaine de la Massole Carrière Pradal Rosé is a new addition rosé from the home to the oldest vineyards in France. A delicate blend of spicy Syrah, plus almost a third of fruity Grenache Noir, this crisp, delicate rose gives the finest Provence pinks a run for their money. Like many of the best roses, it's made from free-run juice. Extracted without pressing, this is considered to be the highest quality juice, enhancing the wine's purity and finesse. Harvested at night to benefit from the lowest temperatures, its deliciously light red fruit flavours would perfectly compliment scallops, fish appetisers and oysters.

Born in the region, Perdigal knew exactly how a fabulous Côtes du Rhône wine should taste and the Léon Perdigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé is a perfect example. This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre has been slowly fermented at low temperatures to preserve aromas, resulting in a rosé that is equal parts well-structured and fruity. Intense aromas of red berries, citrus and flowers meet fresh and lively flavours. Try it with salmon risotto, roast chicken, goat’s cheese tart or crab.

If you love a structured rosé with delicate aromatics and a zesty citrus finish, try the Mirabeau Haute Couture Organic Rosé. Sourced from Maison Mirabeau’s regenerative estate in the Notre-Dame des Anges terroir, the village of Cuers and the slopes of the Mont Sainte-Victoire, it’s fresh and powerful. Try it with rich dishes, like chargrilled langoustines or stuffed fillet of pork.

From the vineyards on Corsica’s eastern coast, the Compagnia Rosé is a blend of Niellucciu, Cinsaut, Syrah, Grenache and Vermentino. The vines here benefit from the sandy soils and enjoy the perfect balance of cool coastal breezes and bright sunshine – the perfect recipe for ripe and elegant rosé. The pronounced fruit character makes it a dream with Mediterranean dishes or recipes that call for a touch of spice.

These excellent rosés are sure to be just the thing to kick off the warmer months and get you ready for Spring sipping in your garden!
