Majestic Guides: Stand-out Wines from our January Sale
With such an incredible variety of wines on offer this month, you may be wondering where to start. So in this handy guide, discover some of our top picks you won’t want to miss.
Our January Sale is here, with unmissable offers on a wide range of delicious wines from around the world. There are plenty of stand-out bottles to choose from, with options to suit every taste and budget. And here, we’re sharing the stories behind some of our favourites that we know you’ll love.
Toast & Honey
This exclusive collection embodies everything there is to love about bold Californian wines. To make them, our buyers worked with a fourth-generation family of wine growers in Lodi, one of California’s most celebrated winemaking spots. And the results are certain to delight any curious wine lover.
Discover a rich Chardonnay, a silky Pinot Noir and a juicy Cabernet Sauvignon.
Every year, we ask our store managers to blind-taste a selection of delicious wines and choose their favourite. This elegant Cabernet is one of those winners – and it’s clear to see why. It’s made by one of Chile’s most exciting wineries, whose wines frequently sell for $80+ in the USA. Don’t miss this chance to taste their expertise at incredible value.
It's rich and smooth, with notes of ripe blackcurrant, cassis and mocha.
A versatile, easy-drinking red from Felix Solís – the producer behind our bestselling red, The Guv’nor. It hails from the La Puebla winery in Spain’s La Mancha region, and it’s named after the storms blown north towards this arid area from the Sahara. Fantastically food-friendly and excellent value for money, it’s the ideal bottle to share with friends.
A real crowd pleaser, it has juicy red-berry flavours and a silky texture.
Minuty Rosé
Château Minuty is one of only 18 châteaux in Provence to be designated Cru Classé – the best of the best. And they set the standard for the region’s ever-popular rosé in these two much-loved wines.
M de Minuty Rosé is crisp and refreshing, with notes of white peach and grapefruit. And Cuvée Prestige Rosé is powerful and fruity, with citrus and red-fruit flavours plus an elegant streak of minerality.
If you love crisp white wines like Pinot Grigio but want to try something a little different, Chenin Blanc is certainly one to look out for. This great value example is made by one of the Loire Valley’s most respected co-operatives, and offers an excellent introduction to the dry, fruity style the region is famous for.
It’s delicately floral, with fresh notes of green apple, pear, melon and stone fruits.
