Famed for creating Boekenhoutskloof’s The Chocolate Block wine, Marc Kent is one of the great pioneers of South African wine. He’s turned his attention to the Helderberg winery – a site that’s been producing wine for well over a century. Meaning ‘clear mountain’, the Helderberg’s fertile soils and ocean breezes make it an incredible spot to produce wine. He took over the property in 2011 – and it’s gone from strength to strength ever since. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Syrah, this is another shining example of what happens when you pair idyllic South African vineyards with unrivalled expertise. Expect notes of red fruit, cassis, fig and clove with hints of liquorice. Its complex flavours and soft tannins make it a dream with braised short ribs.

Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade.
We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

As another reviewer remarked, this is not acidic. That’s a plus for me. On top of that it’s big on fruity flavour. Would definitely buy again.

A enjoyable wine quite well balanced, could probably benefit from another couple of years to tame the racy tannins, not worth the price so wouldn't buy it again.

2021 In the glass it presents an intense purple ruby, the olfactory notes reflect red and black fruit such as cassis, blueberry, currant and blackberry followed by ripe fig with nuances of nutmeg, licorice and cloves with traces of mocha highlighted by balsamic freshness. On the palate it is complex and full-bodied with smooth and juicy tannins well balanced with acidity, it returns on the tasty olfactory notes, the finish is clean and round with a push on the next sip with good persistenceCabernet Sauvignon

It's more a 4.5 rating. A very nice clean dry blend without too much going on but subtle with it's flavours. Not overly oaked and excellent acidity. A classic South African red.
