This Grenache and Syrah blend from the Côtes du Rhône sub-region of Visan bagged a gold medal at the Concours des Grand Vins de France. When you taste it you’ll know why: it’s powerful yet restrained, with intense black and blue fruits, a white pepper lick on the finish and harmonious tannins. One to linger over.

About the producer
A group of nearly 400 artisan winegrowers with vineyards across the Côtes du Rhône, Rhonéa shows off the power of community winemaking. They’re part of Winegrowers for Sustainable Development and have blossomed from just a handful of families in the 1920s to an influential body making fruit-forward wines.

About the region
The Rhône is one of France’s most famous valleys, and historic Visan is one of its notable southern winemaking communes. Its hilly slopes with pebbly marl and sandy soils are planted primarily with Syrah and Grenache grapes. It’s thought that vines were first brought here by Emperor Probus and his troops in the third century.
