VIOGNIER

Viognier, pronounced vee-on-yay, hails from the Rhône Valley. Notably in the region of Condrieu, where the grape creates luxuriously rich and perfumed wines that demand high prices. Its intense floral and fruity aromas makes it a great blending variety – not only with other white grapes, such as Marsanne and Roussanne, but also with Syrah. In the last few decades, several New World countries have adopted the grape, including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Chile. Read more about it here.
