PIEDMONT
From the majestic reds of Barolo and Barbaresco to expressive whites produced from Gavi and Arneis, Piedmont produces some of the most premium Italian wines.
Cortese was first planted in Gavi by the founder of Toledana 400 years ago. Crisp. Fresh. Citrussy. This is a great expression of the ‘Chablis of Italy’.
This full-bodied, savoury Nebbiolo. It’s remarkably fresh, with intense notes of ripe and juicy red fruits. Rich roast lamb will balance its firm tannins perfectly.
Gavi is one of the Piedmont region’s most exciting whites, made using the Cortese grape. It’s adored for its exquisite freshness and now rivals some of Italy’s other best known white wines such as Pinot Grigio and Soave.
Northern Italy is a fantastic area for showstopping red wines, but it’s the more bold styles, like Amarone, that often grab the headlines. For a more vibrant, youthful take on Italian reds, Barbera is not to be missed.
Nebbiolo is one of the most important grapes known throughout the whole of Italy and this unique expression, which comes from a highly respected winery, is not to be overlooked. You’ll find an elegant structure and notes of rose and cherry.
Gavi is adored for its exquisite freshness and now rivals some of Italy’s other best-known white wines, such as Pinot Grigio and Soave. This wine has been aged on its lees, giving it a unique texture that lets its notes of minerality shine.
One of the kings of Italian wine. It's intense and wonderfully aromatic, with notes of red fruits and creamy oak and silk-smooth tannins. Try it with game birds or a roast dinner.
