Mixology at Home: Crafting Cocktails with Low and No-Alcohol Spirits

For cocktail fans looking for non-alcoholic options that won’t compromise on flavour, here are some of our favourite go-to spirits and recipes!

Club Soda

The fantastic social impact organisation Club Soda provides the best available non-alcoholic offerings. With a clear increase in demand for these options in recent years, teaming up with Club Soda means bringing their unparalleled knowledge and expertise on board. Their founder, Laura Willoughby MBE, is the UK’s foremost expert in the topic, whose years of activism and campaigning continue to bolster the non-alcoholic category. She has spent the last 10 years seeking out the best tasting low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks.

Everleaf

The Everleaf aperitif is something special. The founder, Paul Mathew, is a conservation biologist. Ingredients are important. He uses 12 sustainably sourced botanicals, including cherry blossom, rosehip, and strawberry. Expect a fragrant and floral bouquet, with an aromatic bitterness balanced by rich dark cherry and strawberry notes, and a hint of citrus and pepper on the finish. Spritz with a tonic. Perfect to make at home and to make for a party.

Everleaf Paloma recipe:

1. Fill a tumbler with ice.
2. Add 100ml of grapefruit juice and 50ml of Everleaf aperitif.

3. Add a dash of sparkling water and a squeeze of fresh lime.
4. Top with a teaspoon of agave syrup and add a coarse salt rim (if you choose).

Three Spirit

Three Spirit is the world's first functional non-alcoholic wine and spirit range created by bartenders, winemakers and plant scientists. They make non-alcoholic elixirs inspired by botanical alchemy to enhance your mood through active ingredients powered by plants. It’s a mood-boosting, energising blend with adaptogens like guayusa and schisandra to lift focus and ease stress. Bitter notes of ginseng and floral green herbs are great in a spritz, serve with tonic water or drink like your favourite white spirit.

Three Spirit spritz recipe:

1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
2. Add 75ml of lemonade, 50ml of Three Spirit Livener and a splash of kombucha if you have it.

3. Garnish with mint and cucumber.

Sipsmith Freeglider

Sipsmith spent years perfecting the recipes behind their fantastic gin. And they've taken the same approach to their ultimate alcohol-free spirit – they experimented with no less than 189 prototypes and 100 ingredients before creating FreeGlider. It was worth the effort. It's bright, refreshing and zesty, with flavours of eucalyptus and juniper.

Sipsmith G&T

1. Add ice to a glass.
2. Add 50ml of Sipsmith to 100ml tonic water.
3. Top off with a twist of grapefruit and drop in a slice of grapefruit to garnish.

Thomson & Scott

Amanda Thomson, CEO and Founder of Thomson & Scott, studied at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School in Paris and is leading the global shift to integrate quality non-alcoholic wine drinking into the wine industry. A leader in non-alcoholic beverages, the Noughty range is made with a focus on delivering refined flavours. Their dedication to quality ensures standout non-alcoholic wines.

Their vibrant sparkling organic Chardonnay has been entirely de-alcoholised. It's all of the enjoyment of your favourite bottle of fizz without the alcohol. It’s the lighter choice for celebrations, but will also be fantastic for a quiet night in with rich, cheesy nibbles.

Rhubarb Spritz

1.Pour 20ml bittersweet aperitivo, 30ml rhubarb syrup and 45ml Noughty sparkling Chardonnay.
2.Top with 30ml soda water.
3.Add ice to a glass and stir twice.
4.Garnish with a rhubarb peel.

We have countless fantastic low and non alcoholic choices, and with continued growth in the category, our range has been growing to reflect these changes, and we’re excited to bring you the very best selection. Cheers and happy World Cocktail Day!
