Introducing: Chosen by Majestic

With the success of our own-brand wines, we sent our award-winning buying team all around the world on an exciting new mission: to curate a new collection showcasing key regions and varietals – at great prices. 

Where did the idea for Chosen by Majestic come from?

We’ve been selling wines for over 40 years – and throughout that time, we’ve developed a rich network of long-standing relationships with esteemed growers and producers. At a time where ensuring great value for money is more important than ever, we wanted to introduce a new collection that would promise incredible flavour at incredible price points. Over 945 wines were tasted blind and benchmarked against the market to ensure they stood apart. Sitting just under our much-loved Definition range, the Chosen by Majestic make up the foundation of our own-label and guarantee great flavour.

How were the Chosen by Majestic wines selected?

Our buyers set off to key wine regions all over the world to visit and work with our network of producers and winegrowers. They each had their own aims, from finding the ideal fizz for a party, to creating Burgundy-style for a snip of the price. What’s more, sustainability was a key factor, so every Chosen by Majestic wine is vegan and, where possible, comes in a lightweight glass bottle to reduce its carbon footprint. After tasting hundreds of wines and ensuring all the marks were hit, they came back with their top picks – and the Chosen by Majestic collection was born. 

Why are the Chosen by Majestic wines such good value?

Finding the best balance of flavour and value was an important part of Chosen by Majestic – so it was important we worked with trusted names. We worked with growers who have decades of experience – so it’s safe to say they know how to get the best out of their grapes. They all have a proven track record of delivering excellent value for money, making them perfect for the Chosen by Majestic collection. As these wines are part of our own brand portfolio, we have control over the whole production process and avoid the extra costs associated with buying external wines. And all this means we can pass on the savings to you.
