Following Majestic’s success in 2023 with wins in at IWC for Buying Team of the Year and Rosé Retailer of the Year – we were delighted to have been awarded Drinks Buying Team of the Year at the Drinks Retailing Awards 2024, celebrated at The Dorchester Hotel in London earlier this month.

This is the fifth successive year our Buying Team has been recognised by the Drinks Retailing Awards, with Majestic also shortlisted for Sustainable Drinks Retailer of the Year, for our recently strengthened ranges of organic and vegan friendly wines and our inclusivity initiative - the Diversity in Wine Scholarship programme.

Winning this prestigious award is a testament to our performance, buying power, and agility as a business in order to remain competitive and innovative – supporting our overarching goal of bringing our customers the best selection of wines, beer and spirits, at the most competitive prices.

Judges said “Last year saw a resurgent Majestic build on a strong 2022 when it defied the cost of living crisis to deliver its second biggest Christmas trading period ever. Its Buying Team cultives strong relationships with both big producers and small family-run enterprises and in the Definition range has brought to the market one of the most sharply focused exclusive-label brands around. Definition’s success has now been supplemented by Chosen by Majestic, designed to help those on tighter budgets.”

Buying Managers Jake Biggs and Matt Fowkes collected the award on behalf of Majestic.
