In Short:
Discover our top ten drinks for February
January is for taking a pause after the Christmas and New Year's festivities. So February is the time to really kick-start your year. Remember those resolutions? Perhaps one was to learn more about wine or drink a bit better this year. We can certainly help.
As one of Europe's largest wine educators, we've got expertise running throughout Majestic. Walk into any of our stores, and you'll meet our friendly colleagues waiting to help you find a new favourite or tell you more about a particular wine region.
This month, we’ve made sure to pick out a selection of wines we think you’ll love. From Champagne under £20 to decadent Bordeaux for less than £10 when you Mix Any Six, these are our top ten drinks for February.
La Gioiosa Prosecco DOC Rosé
Up until 2020, producers weren't allowed to label rosé fizz as Prosecco. When that changed we went straight to Prosecco experts La Gioiosa for our very first. Enjoy bright notes of redcurrant, raspberry and white flowers.
Chanoine Frères 'Réserve Privée' Brut Champagne
Excellent-value vintage Champagne from the region’s second-oldest house. Rich. Rounded. Fruity. Expect fine bubbles, notes of stone fruits and spice, with flavours of fig and apple.
Definition Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie DOC
To capture the Definition of Pinot Grigio, our buyers headed to north-eastern Italy, where the vineyards reach into the cool Alpine foothills. It’s got all the citrusy zing and freshness you’d get from squeezing a lemon.
Villa Maria 'Cellar Selection' Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough
As bold and concentrated as Marlborough Sauvignon gets. This has powerful and juicy flavours of passionfruit, lime and gooseberry alongside a thirst-quenching acidity.
Louis Jadot 'Les Roches Blanches' Mâcon-Villages
Wallet-friendly white Burgundy from one of the biggest names in France. It’s purposely unoaked to showcase the fresh, fruity character of Chardonnay. Expect elegant flavours of apple, pear and pastry.
Château Minuty 'M de Minuty' Rosé, Côtes de Provence
The gold standard for Provence pink, from one of only 18 châteaux in the region to be designated Cru Classé. It’s fresh and juicy, with flavours of white peach and grapefruit.
Château Recougne Bordeaux Supérieur
This Château was a favourite of Henri IV, and it still uses the old Bordeaux variety Carménère in the blend. It’s now a firm Majestic favourite. Expect food-friendly notes of cherry, cedar wood and earth.
Pasqua 'Desire, Lush & Zin' Primitivo, Puglia
A marriage of two sibling grape styles – Zinfandel and Primitivo.Big. Bold. Velvety. This is a seriously full-bodied and silky wine with hints of black pepper and vanilla spice.
E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône
The Guigal name is synonymous with excellent quality Rhône wines. Their passion for Syrah means this has a higher proportion of the grape than the usual blend from this region. This bestseller has notes of red and black fruits and a warm, spicy finish.
Peroni Nastro Azzurro
Nothing beats a chilled beer, and this Italian classic is an enduring favourite. It’s made with the finest hops, barley and Italian maize. Wonderfully crisp and refreshing.
