Amarone Wines

Amarone della Valpolicella comes from the Veneto region. It's one of Italy’s most-famous wines. This luxuriously full-bodied red is often referred to as one of the kings of Italian wine with good reason. The plush, fruit-forward style is achieved with a traditional and unique winemaking method called appassimento. This process involves naturally drying the grapes out before fermentation, concentrating the sugars and turbocharging the flavour. It makes for juicy and complex wines with pronounced cherry and dried-fruit flavours. Like the best Rioja, Amarone can be aged in barrel for several years, adding smoky, spicy and herbal notes to its bold character.
