Discover Roseblood: the next big thing in rosé
In short:
Château d’Estoublon’s ‘Roseblood’ is tipped to be the next big thing in rosé. Crafted by some of France’s biggest names, it’s fresh, elegant and perfect for warm, sunny days.
When the sun comes out and the weather gets warmer, nothing beats a refreshing glass of rosé. And for many, the south of France is where to look for the best examples of the crisp, dry style of rosé that’s loved the world over.
Enter Roseblood: the new star on the rosé scene that’s been turning heads all across France – and now in the UK too. It embodies all the classic elegance you’d expect from premium Southern French pink, with a distinctive freshness that makes it perfect for sunny days and warm weather.
We introduced this stunning rosé to our shelves in April 2023 – the first national retailer to bring it to the UK. And it’s been a hit with our customers and colleagues from the start.
The estate
Roseblood is made by Château d’Estoublon, a historic estate based in the heart of Provence. As a 500-year-old Provence Château famed for crafting multi-award-winning wines, it’s fair to say they know a thing or two about fantastic rosé.
The estate is now co-owned by four of France’s big families – entrepreneur Stephan Courbit, Jean-Guillaume Prats of Château Lafite-Rothschild fame, and former President and First Lady, Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni. They’ve continued to uphold its reputation for excellence – and this rosé is delicious proof.
Launched in 2021, Roseblood is the result of a close collaboration between Prats and Bruni, crafted under the expert eye of Technical Director Victor Joyeaux, of Cloudy Bay fame.
The vineyards
Château d’Estoublon’s hillside vineyards have been farmed organically since 1999, out of respect for their picturesque surroundings. The mature vines are meticulously cared for, producing top quality grapes that result in remarkably expressive wines.
Roseblood Rosé combines the classic Provençal grapes Grenache and Cinsault, with a touch of the lesser-known variety Tibouren.
The taste
It’s a distinctly fresh rosé with notes of zesty citrus, apricot, strawberry and peony, plus an elegant minerality. Enjoy it with light Mediterranean-style dishes like tomato confit or beef carpaccio, or as a delicious apéritif on a sunny afternoon.
