Ordering

  • We will not sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and we reserve the right not to deliver if we are unsure of this.
  • We cannot guarantee availability of all products at all stores. In the event that a product is unavailable when you place your order, we shall contact you to arrange replacement, or another acceptable arrangement for the completion of your order.
  • We reserve the right not to accept any order.
  • The placing of an order anywhere on our website does not constitute a contract, which is made only when we accept your order and process payment.
  • Our minimum purchase is 12 standard bottles or their equivalent (9 litres) of wines and spirits, any mix. This minimum purchase does not apply to Gift Solutions gift packs or En Primeur wines, which are sold separately.
  • All goods are offered subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability of specific vintages.

Delivery

  • For orders of all items (except Gift Solutions gift packs or En Primeur wines, see separate sections) we normally guarantee delivery within seven days of your order. The guaranteed delivery window will be confirmed during the checkout process. However, if it is impossible to come to a mutually agreeable delivery arrangement in this time, the actual delivery time may be extended until such arrangement is guaranteed.
  • We may use an independent courier. The courier will only attempt to deliver the product twice, after which we regret that you will be responsible for making your own arrangements with them for delivery. The products will be returned to our warehouse if they have not been collected from the courier 3 days after the second delivery attempt, and we reserve the right to pass on the cost of redelivery in this event.

Prices

  • All prices (except En Primeur, see separate section) are inclusive of delivery and VAT.
  • Promotional offers and prices are as stated, with no further discounts available.
  • Although we endeavour to ensure that all pricing information on this website is accurate, occasionally an error may occur and goods may be mis-priced. If we discover a pricing error we will, at our discretion, either: contact you and ask you whether you wish to cancel your order or continue with the order at the correct price; or notify you that we have cancelled your order. We will not be obliged to supply goods at the incorrect price.
  • We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time before (but not after) we accept your order. Where an end date is specified on any offer on the website, it is intended as a guide only. We reserve the right to change prices at any time.

Returns

  • We will provide a full refund or replacement for any wines that are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  • We may require faulty bottles to be returned to us. We will arrange this as necessary at your convenience.

Cancellations and complaints

  • You may cancel your order at any time until seven working days after delivery. Should you decide to cancel, all charges to you will be refunded as soon as the goods are returned in merchantable condition to your nearest store.
  • In the event of complaint please contact the store concerned if it refers to a particular order. Alternatively e-mail info@majestic.co.uk giving as much detail as you can. All complaints will be acknowledged within 48 hours and you can expect a full resolution of your complaint within a further 72 hours. You will be kept informed if there is any delay beyond this. Each complaint will be treated as confidential and will be attended to by a senior manager or director.

  • In the first instance please contact your local store by e-mail, fax or telephone, as indicated on your order confirmation email and on the website.

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts.

Special conditions relating to "En Primeur" products

  • Wines designated as "En Primeur" are lying abroad and are sold on a 'futures' basis before being bottled.
  • En Primeur wines are only available in unsplit cases.
  • En Primeur orders are only accepted online, by post or by fax.
  • As En Primeur wine is bought on a 'futures' basis we are unable to guarantee availability of the wine until it is released to you. In the event that a wine is unavailable for reasons beyond our control, our only liability is for the payments made to us.
  • En Primeur prices are quoted exclusive of VAT and excise duty.
  • The stated product price for En Primeur wines constitutes a "first payment" which will be processed immediately.
  • If you opt to receive En Primeur wines duty-paid a second payment, to cover VAT, duty and handling, will be charged at rates prevailing at the time when the wine is released. This invoice must be paid before the wine can be released to you.
  • If you opt to receive En Primeur wines in-bond no second payment is required. Customers must provide Majestic with details of an active storage account with London City Bond/Vinothèque or Octavian before we can deliver.
  • You may cancel your order for En Primeur wines at any time until 14 working days after we have confirmed your order and provided an invoice for your initial payment. Should you decide to cancel, all charges to you will be refunded.
  • You should inspect all En Primeur wines at the time of collection or delivery and notify us within seven days of any missing or damaged items. After seven days you will be deemed to have accepted the goods and no returns will be accepted thereafter.
  • We will act in good faith when purchasing En Primeur wine, but we will not be responsible for the condition of wines or whether the wine corresponds to the qualities which might be expected from its description.

Special conditions relating to "Fine Wine" products

  • Wines designated as "Fine Wine" are kept under temperature-controlled conditions in our Fine Wine Centre. When you place an order for any of these wines they are removed from storage and sent to your local store for delivery along with any other wines you have ordered from us. To take advantage of this special distribution service we require a minimum of six bottles of fine wine in your order, as part of our overall minimum purchase of 12 bottles of wines and spirits.
  • We cannot guarantee delivery in original packaging. We may, at our discretion and on specific request, be able to supply wines in their original packaging, although when we do so this may take up to 30 days.
  • You should inspect all goods at the time of collection or delivery and notify us within seven days of any missing or faulty items. After seven days you will be deemed to have accepted the goods and no returns will be accepted thereafter.

Special conditions relating to "Gift Solutions" products

  • Customers may select an estimated delivery date for orders of "Gift Solutions" products. Goods will be dispatched using an appropriate lead time to match this intended delivery date.
  • If our carrier is unable to arrange delivery within 3 working days of the second delivery attempt delivery your gift may be returned to us. We can arrange to re-despatch your gift subject to a £10 re-delivery charge, or refund you the cost of your gift (not including postage and packaging).
  • In the event of non-delivery by our courier, or if the gift is lost or stolen prior to receipt being confirmed by signature we will replace it - please notify us within seven days of any discrepancies.
  • All prices include a £10 postage and packaging charge built-in.
  • Gift Solutions deliveries to Northern Ireland, the Isles of Scilly, the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Man are subject to an £11 per gift delivery supplement.
  • Gift Solutions deliveries to the Scottish Islands are subject to a £22 per gift delivery supplement.
