Celebrate the Jubilee with some English Wine!
Chapel Down
Chapel Down in Kent produces over half a million bottles a year from its Tenterden site, just 10 miles from the sea. They share almost the exact same conditions and soil type as the Champagne region which in our mind leads to fantastic sparkling wines and
a great British alternative!
Chapel Down Brut £14.99
A blend of Pinot Noir, Rivaner and Reichensteiner, this is almost Prosecco in style. Peach and apple aromas give way to a slightly yeasty palate displaying citrus and delicate tropical fruit flavours.
Chapel Down Pinot Reserve £19.99
A vintage cuvee of Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, this is a really rival to Champagne. The nose displays subtle minerality with hints of toasted almonds, green apple and strawberry. The crisp palate exhibits brioche notes, baked apple
and lemon.
Chapel Down Vintage Rose £20.99
The nose is subtle with a hint of strawberry and raspberry, which leads to brioche, almonds, cream and shortbread on the palate.
Nyetimber
Nyetimber is the largest wine estate in the UK with 438 acres under vine. In their Sussex vineyards they also enjoy similar conditions to Champagne and in 1993 their classic cuvee won the trophy for Best Worldwide Sparkling Wine at the IWSC.
Their Classic Cuvee is £24.99 a bottle, and is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and is rich, toasty and citrussy, with fine smooth bubbles and hints of strawberries and cream.
