We have decided to open up the delectable Gavi De Gavi La Toledana as part of our Italian tasting week to show off one of the more unusual but fantastic white wines Italy has to offer!
This is one of the excellent wines that is produced in one of the vineyards closest to the much celebrated village of Gavi, Piedmont, giving it the sought after 'Gavi de Gavi' title. It is suggested that Gavi is the 'Chablis' of Italy due to the charecter
of the white wines produced being steely and fresh in taste, and this is no exception either!
On the palate this wine exhibits delicate notes of peach, apricot and pear with a crisp citrus edge. The subtle steely minerality matches that of some chablis and is complemented by fresh acidity. The unique side of this wine is the slight Honeyed edge it
has due to a later harvest, which gives it and overall off-dry style.
This wine perfect for summer and is outstanding value at just £7.99 (when you buy 2 or more Italian wines)
come In and give it a try this weekend!
