Wine of the Week- Vermentino Poggioargentiera

    Tom

    Vermentino 2012, Poggioargentiera

    £9.99 – Buy 2 or more bottles - £7.99

This wine comes from the warm, sunny Mediterranean climate of Tuscany. The Vermentino grape thrives here, and as a result this wine is a fabulous example of a quality wine from this region.

It is clean and delightfully fresh on the nose, and packed with flavours of ripe peach and soft pear with a refreshing limey finish.

Perfect on its own, this wine will also beautifully compliment pan-seared salmon with a herby fresh tomato salsa.

Wine of the Week- Parcel Series Shiraz

    Tom

Wine of the Week- Parcel Series Shiraz

Parcel Series Shirz 2011, Western Cape

    £7.99 – Buy 2 or more bottles - £5.99

An exclusive bottling for Majestic, made by one of South Africa's most well-established producers. This is a fantastic wine at a bargain price!

A nose predominantly of mulberry and plum, with nuances of coriander and savoury spice. The rich fruit on the palate is framed by muscular tannins and an enduring liquorice character.

Best served with a barbecue; try this with chargrilled venison burgers.

    Wine of the Week-Fremondo Greco

    Ashleigh

    Fremondo Greco

    20% off Italian Wine!

£7.99 when purchasing 2 or more

Sunshine is here and we're all dreaming of days in the garden and gorgeous BBQ's, and I think we've found a brilliant wine to help you enjoy! If you like your chargrilled squid, scallops in a herby butter or pancetta wrapped monkfish, this is the wine to be appreciating.

I wasn't expecting something so complex from this beautiful Italian bottle, but its delicious! Full of soft ripe fruit such as white peaches and succulent apricots; accompanied by a slight citrus twist and floral notes of heady honeysuckle. A beautiful finish makes this wine so enjoyable with a delicate minerality to intrigue the tastebuds into taking another sip. A totally Summer style wine!

    Craft Beers To Taste

    Craft Beer Week

You may not think it, but here at Majestic, craft beers are just as exciting and important to us as a quality wine. This week we are focusing on two fantastic American beers that show so much character, structure and enthusiasm, as well as excellent matching partners with food! Anchor Steam is made in San Fransisco: deep in amber colour, a thick creamy head and a rich flavour to complement their traditional brewing methods. Whereas the Brooklyn Lager we head to New York for an amber gold hue, malty body and a floral hop note. Both priced at £12.99 (per 6). Demand for these style beers is proving greater and greater, turning this movement into a global trend; there hasn't been this many micro-breweries in the UK for over 70 years. So, let it be your round to get the beers in and give these a go!

Wine of the Week - Plaisir De Merle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

    Ashleigh

Plaisir De Merle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

£14.99 when purchasing 2 or more

With this wine we are drinking a French classic but in a South African Style. This vine growing area on the slopes of Simonsberg was established many many years ago by French Huguenots and more recently cared for by Paul Pontallier of Chateau Margaux.

The terroir of these vines is brilliant: warm weather and cool breezes from the ocean make for great grape growing.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a brilliant wine for achieving black fruits and earthiness on the nose and on the palate. An additional softness of strawberry and cranberry, elements of clove and a chocolately richness make this a superb wine for matching with red meats. If I were you, I'd enjoy these with a hearty venison burger done on a South African 'Braii' (thats a BBQ to must of us!)
