Parcel Series is when top-class wineries discreetly sell their wine to us at a fraction of the normal price to make room in the cellar, we then pass those savings onto you. Vineyards from various microclimates throughout the Napa Valley come together in this wine to express a true representation of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon for the vintage. This winery selects their fruit from top vineyards grown at multiple elevations to showcase the diversity of terroir within the Napa Valley. Their Cabernet Sauvignon includes fruit from Napa Valley, Oakville,CN, Atlas Peak, Stags Leap and select valley floor sites. It is aged on French and American oak, both barrel and staves and only the best barrels are selected to make the final blend. Expect an exquisite fruit-forward red, packed with plums, notes of vanilla, spices and luxurious tannins. Delicious when paired with grilled chicken or steak.

A really good example of this grape. Smooth but robust. My only comment is that I first bought this at £24.99 (later £19.99) and the latter price is probably high enough as you can get other good cab sauv at this price.

I was expecting some fruit and a little sweetness from a Californian Cab Sav, however this is bitter and has a high level of tannins, not at all what I expected and I would not buy again, certainly not a £20 bottle of wine!

Well, grok (AI on X)  likes those AVRs, and this bottle is very good!
Napa Valley, Oakville, Coombsville (often abbreviated as CN), Atlas Peak, and Stags Leap District — are all highly esteemed within Napa Valley for sourcing grapes for Cabernet Sauvignon, each contributing unique characteristics to the wine due to their distinct microclimates, soil types, and elevations:

1. **Napa Valley**: As the broader area, Napa Valley itself is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon. The valley floor sites you mentioned, along with hillside vineyards, provide a diversity of flavors and structures. Wineries across the globe look to Napa Valley for its rich, opulent Cabernet Sauvignons, which often exhibit flavors of dark fruit, like black cherry and blackberry, with varying degrees of tannin depending on the exact location.

2. **Oakville**: This is one of the most prestigious appellations within Napa Valley for Cabernet Sauvignon. Oakville's terroir, with its well-drained gravelly soils and moderate climate, produces wines with a distinct texture often described as "Rutherford dust" when referencing nearby Rutherford, but in Oakville, you might find a balance of power and elegance. Wineries like Screaming Eagle, Opus One, and many others either source from here or are based here due to the exceptional quality of the fruit.

3. **Coombsville (CN)**: Located in the southeastern part of Napa, Coombsville has a cooler climate due to its proximity to San Pablo Bay, which allows for a longer growing season. This results in Cabernet Sauvignons that can be more structured with higher acidity, offering flavors of dark fruit with sometimes an herbal or minty edge. It's gaining recognition for producing wines with great aging potential.

4. **Atlas Peak**: Known for its higher elevation, volcanic soils, and cooler climate due to altitude, Atlas Peak Cabernets are often more tannic and have a distinctive mineral quality. The area might not be as universally recognized in casual wine circles as Oakville or Stags Leap, but it's respected for producing wines with good acidity and aging capability.

5. **Stags Leap District**: This area is famed for its Cabernet Sauvignons that offer a unique combination of soft tannins and rich fruit flavors, often with notes of blackberry, black cherry, and cocoa. The region's success with Cabernet can be attributed to its volcanic soils and the afternoon breezes that moderate the temperature, allowing for a balance of ripeness and acidity. Wineries like Stag's Leap Wine Cellars (note the singular vs. district name) have put this area on the map.

**Excellence of these Regions:**
- **Yes, these regions are considered excellent for Cabernet Sauvignon.** Each area contributes to the tapestry of Napa Valley's reputation for high-quality wine through:

   - **Terroir**: The combination of soil, climate, and topography in these regions creates ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with complexity and depth.

   - **Reputation**: Many of these areas have historical significance, with wines from these appellations having won accolades or been central to pivotal moments in wine history, like the Judgment of Paris in 1976 where a wine from Stags Leap District was highly acclaimed.

   - **Winemaking**: The investment in viticulture and vinification techniques in these areas also ensures that the grapes are turned into wine with great care, further enhancing their excellence.

Wineries and grape growers in these regions often use these specific AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) on their labels as a mark of quality and to denote the unique character of their wines. Whether it's for sourcing grapes or branding their wine, these areas are sought after by both established names in winemaking and new ventures looking to create outstanding Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.
