Domaine L. Chatelain have been family-run for generations. Based in the village of Fontenay, just north of the town of Chablis, their vines grow on the region’s famous Kimméridgien soils – a mixture of chalky limestone and clay that dates back to the Jurassic period. It’s these soils that give Chablis its signature flinty character, which certainly shines through in this elegant bottling. Crisp, aromatic and seriously refreshing, it’s full of zingy citrus and green apple flavours. Its distinctive minerality makes it the perfect accompaniment to shellfish – especially oysters.

Majestic offers free chiller bin* loan for customers purchasing wine from us.

Our bins hold 18-24 bottles of wine or Champagne or 2-3 cases of lager when filled with ice and water. Drinks will be chilled in 30-45 minutes and will be kept cold for several hours, especially if kept in the shade.
We can also sell the ice to go in a chiller bin, or have it arrive separately - simply contact your local store after placing your order.

I enjoyed it but not enough at this price.It made a change but not one I am in a rush to order again.Perhaps Chablis is not my thing.

This is apple-y, like a cold Appletize without the fizz. I would buy this again if it came on offer and take it to someone else's house as a gift for a summer party, but not if I knew them very well. As Chablis go I've had better at this price point.

Disappointing. I received this as a substitute for the Definition, which I am still looking forward to trying... This has the nose of a Chablis, but the palate is thin. It has acidity and minerality, and it is elegant, but, to pardon a poncy metaphor, it's a girl dressed up as a lady for an evening - elegant on the surface but no depth of flavour. To me this like a supermarket Chablis (but not one of those finds at £13.99 that's verging on a Cru..). I love Chablis, me, but not this one. A Petit Chablis at this price would have more too it, or for a bit more without going Grande, Majestic's Michaut Freres has the same nose, but a taste to match.
