One of the most staunchly traditional winemaking regions, the Saint Mont appellation in Gascogne offers a number of indigenous grape varieties rarely found outside of southwestern France, as well as sharing Bordeaux's temperate maritime climate. Notably rustic and 'Old World' in feel, with a savoury note reminiscent of red Bordeaux, and a warm palate of dark fruit. Rich and spicy with plenty of finesse. Drink within the next two-to-three years, with a pot roast or beef stew.
