Having read the other reviews and been recommended I decided to give this a go. I thought that it seemed over heated and somewhat artificial in the aromas and although there was definitely berry fruit in there the finish slipped away too quickly. I know it is only £6-7 a bottle but there are far better wines at that price and I was left thinking it was a bit something-of-nothing...I agree with other comments re the value in southern french wine over Bordeaux but for me this wasn't a particularly good example of that :(
Top quality sweetie
Have been drinking this wine on and off for years and cannot recommned it highly enough, a lovely fresh and not overly cloying style of sweetie that is easily drunk and doesn't tire your palate. great with lighter style desserts and on its own..just be careful not to overcool it s you might lose some of the lovely aromas..great value.
Went into the local store (CARDIFF) looking for some ideas for Xmas pudding and wanted something strong enough to stand up to that beast. was offered a taste of this and had to buy it...absolutely stunning, I have a million ideas to try it with desserts and even a sip on its own is beautiful..rich, warm and complex with all the dried fruit and rich spice in there, with a lovely soft smooth finish that just glides away..can't recommend it highly enough - just right for this time of year :)
Totally splendiferous !
This is the wine that woke me up to SB and I still love it. A full, complex wine but still with the austerity that you would want and expect, this is a classy wine and whenever I serve it people are won over....I always keep a few bottles in and always will..tremendous
you want value...I give you value
There are undoubtedly better SB's available but at the price on offer for a mid-week drink this is tremendous stuff....it is not overly complex but does exactly what it should - my friends love it and so do my family, even though we are familiar with higher quality SB we come back to this time and time again...super value Thanks Majestic
