Merlot

Origin
The Mendoza region is Argentina's most important wine growing region. Planted at an altitude of between 600 and 1,100 metres above sea level, in the shadow of the Andes. Mendoza's Alluvial soils and complex irrigation systems account for 70% of Argentina's production.
Taste
Deep ruby coloured with hints of opulent, rich raspberries and cherries, plums and spice. The palate is laden with generous lashings of fruit, redcurrants and spice with a smooth and warming finish.
Enjoy
The fruity style of the wine works very well with pasta dishes and red meats. Best enjoyed over the next 18 months.

Easy drinking alone and good with a bbq'd sirloin steak

Bought this for a tasting ahead of choosing wine to order for an event. This is very decent for the price and will get the gig.

    Awful

The case of wine was delivered on Friday morning. I returned 11 bottles plus the part full opened bottle to Salisbury on the following Monday. We think that it is a thin, acidic wine. Not a patch on its Chilean cousins.

An excellent affordable every day drinking wine

If you enjoy drinking a glass or two every day, this is excellent, because it is pleasant and affordable. Nothing to write home about; but good to consume at home. It is just better than the Esperanza Malbec with which it might be confused.

    Lovely everyday red

Not usually a merlot drinker, but this is a wonderful, smooth and flavoursome red for the price. One of our favourites.

    One to try

I bought this based on the recommendations of previous reviews, and was very happy that I did. Full of fruit, smooth, and well worth £4.69.
