Grape

Sauvignon Blanc

Origin
Made from a selection of the best grapes grown throughout Marlborough. During vinification the wine was left on its lees for a brief spell which has given it excellent concentration and added depth.
Taste
Displays pronounced aromas of gooseberry and passion fruit on the nose. It is fresh and beautifully crisp on the palate while being vibrantly fruity, ending in a long zingy finish.
Enjoy
The perfect wine to take along to summer parties. Enjoy on its own or with crab or poached salmon salad.

    Very smooth Kiwi sav

Tried first at instore tasting, then stocked up straight away. Still the usual gooseberry / lime flavours you would expect from a N/Z Sauvignon, but this is smoother more refined and delicate than most N/Z Savs I have previously tried.

    Cheaper is better

Oddly didn't rate this as much as the cheaper VM private bin.

    Genius

Lovely wine for under a tenner. Hard to beat actually, will impress most. 5 Star.

Staff Reviews

  • "The Awatere and Wairu are two of the best valleys in Marlborough. This has intense aromas of cut grass, gooseberry and passionfruit leaping from the glass, undercut by flinty mineral notes. Lees ageing gives this extra body, but it isn't fat and heavy. It has bold, mouth filling tropical fruit flavours alongside the flinty finish. A smoky character really sets this apart, reminding me of good Sancerre. "
