Excellent Pinot and good value
Had to order this in on the basis of the review above, and no regrets: This is an excellent wine - head and shoulders above the other Kiwi Pinots on offer in this price bracket (and much less fo course than what you need to get into good French or US Pinot). It has been made without compromises, and has as a result all the characters that make great Pinot great. The wine provides a full sensory package: peppery/cherry fruit nose, just enough viscosity to give it a fat and languid rather than thin mouth feel, berry/cherry aromas, nicely integrated oak and tannins which are already taking a back seat. Having started well, the wine develops a good long finish with a clean second phase as it warms and interacts with you.
The wine is good drinking now, but I suggest will improve with another 3-4 years in the bottle - there's enough tannin to support that. Definitely let it breath.
