A Real Eye Opener
"We opened the Straw Wine on our last Wine Course for something a bit different. This unusual wine demanded an unusual food match - so we chose Almond Slices.
The wine itself is a beautiful amber colour, which is honeyed and luscious, with flavours of peach, apricot, marmalade and a subtle spicy perfume. The almond slices were rich yet light, filled with raspberry and plum jam, with flaked toasted almonds on top. Together the flavours enhanced and complemented one another, lifting and enriching the almond notes to marzipan or amaretto level! An absolute delight and a real eye opener. Fantastic value on the South African offer as well!"
