A rare opportunity to experience a mature Reserva from this multi-award-winning bodega, from one of the most celebrated vintages of recent times, at an astonishingly low price. A traditional blend made from selected fruit grown in Beronia's oldest vineyards.
Taste
Still showing a vibrant cherry red core, there is a surprising freshness of fruit here, accompanied by notes of cinnamon, cocoa and dried herbs. Silky tannins and an elegant, linear finish.
Enjoy
This wine has been cellared in perfect conditions throughout it's maturity in bottle but as with any fully mature wine colouration may be different to what you expect and you will need to take extra care when pulling the cork

    I dont think this is a wine to keep

    Maybe I was unlucky with my bottle in that it had not been stored properly. But the cork was very dry and the wine was close to been over. I bought it Dec 2012.

    a full-bodied mature wine

    Appearance: A dark Bordeaux red with a some orange-brown reflexes on the border, medium viscosity, few indications for its maturity Nose: red meat, cherry, prune, stewed prune Taste: round, well balanced, pure chocolate, toasty Opinion: A good and full-bodied mature wine. Can be kept for some more years.

      Excellent wine, mature, full bodied, and smooth, but the most pathetic cork I have ever encountered in 60 years!! It crumbled, broke in half and was too short. Surely a screw top would be better than this? It was imossible to decant the wine without crumbs of cork getting in it.

    "Too often we see wines coming on to the market that aren't at their drinking sweet spot, but luckily for us all, Majestic has acquired a fine little selection of Riojas from the much-hyped 1994 vintage. From a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo, and aged for 24 months in American oak, it's sumptuously smooth and seductive with leathery development and a smoky sultry quality, but with plenty of life in the acidity and structure too.
