Origin
Chianti is the vast winegrowing region of central Tuscany, producing more than 750,000 hectolitres of wine each year, the highest of any Italian DOC. Producers are doing their utmost to improve on what was often poor wine in kitsch straw-clad bottles.
Taste
A light ruby hued wine, exuding aromas of wild red berries, oak, vanilla and a hint of spice with soft tannins, full body of red and black fruits, and a warming rich finish.
Enjoy
Drinking now but with the potential to age for 18 months, the wine is best enjoyed with Italian dishes or Mediterranean cuisine.
