Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese

Origin
In the innovative style of the Super-Tuscans, but at a fraction of their price, this is a 'Baby-Tuscan'. Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with a majority of the native Sangiovese to create a wine superior to its IGT classification.
Taste
Soft and intensely fruity, this wine combines the elegance and complexity given by oak-ageing with the fragrant, fresh fruit of a young wine. Soft on the palate with a smooth finish.
Enjoy
A great all-rounder, this wine will complement a rich Tuscan stew, as well as cold cut meats or even just with pizza.

Compare it to a Jacobs Creek

Look, people rarely pay the list price at Majestic, and so you are looking at £7.99 a bottle. Since the Aussie dollar got so strong, you are now looking at paying near this for a bottle of Jacobs Creek, which, no offence, is not going to set the world on fire even if it was made of petrol. We opened this, and thought it was okay. As a reader above suggested, after it was open for a while, we started to really think it was super. Super Tuscan indeed. Well worth getting hold of a few bottles and giving it a try.

    Rather disappointed

Bought a case of this on strength of some very postive reviews but after having got through two of the bottles, will be using the rest to take along to parties (blush). Lacks any kind of individuality or personality and resembles the most basic french table wine. Bland and not especially nice.

    Delicious

Full, fruity flavour, delightful wine, not tasted a better italian wine at this price. Tastes as good as its label looks.

    Very good wine

First had this wine in a steakhouse in Chicago at $40 a bottle. Now very reasonably priced. Slightly heavier than a Chianti or Rioja with bold blackberry flavours. Slightly too heavy to swig and does benefit from an hour in a decanter.
