Vermentino

Origin
Native to Italy and featuring in many white wines from Sicily to Piedmont, Vermentino is now being increasingly planted in the South of France. Permitted in a number of blends, it has here been produced as a varietal wine.
Taste
Very bright gold with youthful green tints. The nose is predominantly citrus, with berry and slightly smoky notes. Remarkably rich on the palate, with good acidity, and a satisfying length.
Enjoy
Serve moderately chilled, with seafood, poached fish or cold salads.

    different, try it

    First delve into Vermentino, and it was a really enjoyable drop. Paul Mas produces consistently good whites and this is no exception. Recommended at the current £8 price, but hopefully you can find this on a future deal to make it even more attractive.

    A MASTERFUL TIPPLE

    As a rule its best to stay clear of Vermentino. It can be insipid unbalanced cheap plonk. But this.. this is superb. One bottle we left 2 days tasted like a £25 savenniere.. I know sounds like nonsense but it did, and i love my savennieres! Buy it if you can find it!
