A pleasant surprise
Not being from a top year I don't think I was too hopeful of this wine but liked it so much I bought a crate. This is what good quaffling claret should be: it has a pleasantly old fashioned sapidity, a pleasing austere tannic twist, well balanced and structured with a decently long finish. Cleanly made with a splash of vivid fruit, this is a splendid sunday lunch wine - I for one didn't think that claret this good could be got at £8 any more.
