The 2006 Emilio Moro was aged in French and American oak for 12 months. It has a superb bouquet of smoke, roasted herbs, scorched earth, and blackberry. Layered on the palate, it has tons of fruit, plenty of spice box notes, a firm structure, and 2-3 years of ageing potential.' 92 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

"Another stunning wine from Ribera del Duero, one of my favourite regions of Spain, which is gaining cult status and usually has prices to match. This fine example is aged in both French and American oak for 12 months and offers a beautiful nose of dark fruits, smoke and pencil shavings. The palate is a real mouthful, rich and powerful yet beautifully balanced with a silky smooth texture. At this price, it offers great value and has the potential to age, if you can bring yourself to do such a thing. Personally, I don't think I could leave it alone... "

"100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) aged in a 50/50 blend of French and American oak, this has a savoury, bold, quite structural appeal with black, edgy fruit and just glimpses of something earthy and savoury in the nose. The palate doesn’t have huge weight or texture, but there’s a juiciness and a spicy, creamy infill of oak that adds a big, plush finish. Impressive in the end, with lots of power and muscularity at its core. Buy any two Spanish wines save 25% until end October, so £12.74 equivalent. Score: 90/100 "
