"When we were asked to nominate the sparkling that we thought could be most likely mistaken for Champagne, the decision at Majestic Wine Berkhamsted was unanimous: Cloudy Bay Pelorus vintage. The reason being, it is simply delicicious! It will rise to every occasion with or without food! It has an elegance, crispness and complexity inherent in a quality sparkling wine. Pelorus Vintage is a complex blend of the classic champagne varieties; pinot noir and chardonnay. Released at four years of age, the style is generous and full-bodied, brimming with richly concentrated fruit and a creamy mousse."

  • Champagne buster!

After drinking this for years, it is still good to know the team at Cloudy bay can produce a sparkling wine to knock spots off much more expensive champagnes; it makes me wonder how LVMH/Veuve Clicquot feels when producing its own basic (and even vintage) fizz. Light, fragrant, clear fruit tastes and not over-burdened by champagne expectations, it continues to be my first choice bottle to 'pop'. No getting quickly drunk on over-carbonated grape juice here, just a chance to sip and savour a wine made with love.

I have always bought your Montana Sparkling, which you don't have right now fantastic value for money.. Have drunk a lot of the S/B cloudy bay which is a classic. This pop is very disappointing, doesn,t retain its bubbles fairly tasteless. I would't have thought it was made from the two classic champagne grapes.Drop it!

  • Very good value fizz!

An extremely palatable fizz, acid balance just right and does not obscure the gratefruit after taste. Very well worth a bottle ( or, in our judgement, a case) and leisurely tasting.
