Grape

Carmenère

Origin
Carmenère is a French grape that has lost favour in its homeland but has excelled in Chile. From the Central Valley which is protected from extremities by the Andes to the east and the Pacific to the west, this is the perfect party red.
Taste
Lots of plummy, juicy fruit, this wine also displays more complex flavours on the palate in the form of spice, mint and vanilla.
Enjoy
Enjoy with stewed meat or simply as a great value party wine.

    disappointing

I am rarely disappointed in a wine bought from Majestic. The bottle I have opened and tasted was acidic, thin and generally unpleasant, even with food, but especially without. Not an easy drinking wine

Punches well above its price tag

Not a great wine, but a very pleasant drinkable red and great value.

    Neby carm

Rather heavy when first opened. Good the next day though, smooth full flavour for the price!

    Great Wine

Tried this some months back and it was better than some of the more expensive ones in the order. Easy to drink and teriffic value.

    Excellent value

As the previous review I added this as a filler along with supposedly superior wines. I found this eminently drinkable, not bland in the slightest and with a lovely depth & smoothness that outshines some far more expensive offerings i've had. Overall this is a wine i think will be finding its way into my trolley again.
