"The McGuigan Handmade Shiraz is a wine of great power and refinement. A deep ruby colour denotes its warmth and character. The nose is a myriad of cherries, chocolate, Szechuan pepper, cloves, vanilla and peppermint, overlying precise plum and bramble characters. The palate is rich and complex, following with the dominant plum, blackcurrant and chocolate notes. The tannins are firm, yet silky, which supports the soft, sweet fruit. This wine is a wonderful example of terroir playing its part, as the rich aluvial soil from Langhorne Creek manifests itself in a persistant minerality lasting all the way through the long and sumptuous finish. It's a bonza wine for the money!"
