Origin
Perlé' is the French term for young white wines bottled with natural 'pearls', or tiny bubbles preserved in the wine by bottling shortly after fermentation. This example is blended from grape varieties local to the area between Toulouse and Albi in southwest France.
Taste
Youthfully pale yellow with faint green tinges. Zesty lemon and grapefruit aromas dominate the nose. Fresh, lively and dry, the palate is equally citrussy, with a touch of flint-like minerality.

A refreshing aperitif and the perfect partner for grilled fish and fresh seafood.

    flinty pleasure

    I first came across this wine when I was in SW France. It is often hard to track down in the UK and I was afraid it was one of those that didn't "travel" well. However, yours is thoroughly recommendable for anyone who likes their white a little on the sharp side without seeming acidic.

    "Some wines are built for savouring; others have the more humble ambition of quenching thirst and washing down light, simple food. This is in the latter camp. It has a very gentle spritz, light alcohol and twangy, lemony acidity. It's not watery or dilute, but it has the same invigorating effect as a cool glass of slightly fizzy mineral water served with a squeeze of lemon and a sprig of mint.
